Sunday

Today was another beautiful Autumn day. We spent it at South SeaTac Park for the 3rd Seattle Cyclocross Series Race. Our team stayed after for course clean-up. It was a fun day. I came in second again (behind a pro moutain biker) in the women's single speed category!

Can you spot Jeff and Selee in this picture at the cyclocross race?

Eric, these pictures are for you...

I broke down and bought Carmen a squirelly like Canyon's. :) I love my dog.

Saturday - Autumn Day

Today was a beautiful Autumn Day in Olympia. Carmen and I went on a nice waterfront hike and to the Market to purchase pumpkins and a big mum potter for the front yard.

Razor Clammin'

Friday evening, Jeff, Carmen, and I hopped in the subaru, and drove to Aberdeen to rendevouz with some of my work friends and go razor clam digging. I've always wanted to try it! We followed Becca and her husband Chris out to Ocean City near Ocean Shores. We probably drove a half mile on the beach before reaching their favorite spot. The low tied was after dark, so we were clammin' by head lamp. We all got our limits (15 clams) pretty quickly. Carmen had fun, but was a little unsure about the whole thing. All the people digging clams by headlamp looked like a city in the distance. It was a pretty cool experience!

Jeff was ready to go get some razors!

Four of my clams. I will admit that processing them in the morning was kinda uncomfortable for me. They wiggle and move while you process them. I sort of thought about going Vegan for a moment. I froze them and once Eric gets back we'll cook em up. I should be over it by then.

Dinner with friends

Carmen and I brought Thai take-out over to our friends' house for dinner tonight. Lawrence and Kara have a newborn son, Alden Sage (Kara's holding him in the picture below). We had a great visit with them. Carmen was so excited to see Canyon (their dog) and best of all, she got to be on their couch!

Best Friends

Carmen has a new best buddy. Her name is Maggie Moo. She's a young cattle dog. Her owner and I work together at the Dept of Ecology. Since I have Carmen at work with me everyday while Eric is back east, she gets to play with Maggie at lunch time. They have a blast and are a riot to watch!

We just back from a nice walk under the bright full moon and we ran into Chris Sutton from highschool. His band is in town tonight playing at Le Voyeur and he just happend to be walking down our street. Life is funny sometimes! Good night... B & C.

Just the gals

Well the dog days of summer are gone and fall has arrived, although today was sunny and pretty warm while the sun was out. Oyster Fest was awesome last weekend (forgot to bring the camera). My cyclocross season is in full swing.

Eric left on Saturday to spend time with his sister in Richmond, VA, Grandma and Dad in Pennsylvania, and Aunt in New York. It's just me and Lil' C (Carmen) for a week! So, we promised Eric we'd post some pictures everyday while he's gone...

Carmen attended her first Cyclocross race for the season this morning. She gets a little flustered by all the people, bikes, and cowbells, but she loves all the dogs that people bring. She had a big poop right in front of all these spectators. It was pretty funny.

Lil' C and I walked down to the waterfront in the late afternoon. This picture was taken looking towards downtown from our eastside neighborhood. We saw lots of people and dogs we knew on the way as everyone it seemed was out enjoying the day. We even met 3 corgis on our walk.

Eric, we put this picture in just for you. Carmen misses you! Woof!
